Dr. Karin Michael

Dr. Karin Michael (born 1970 in Germany) completed a specialist course in geriatric nursing before studying human medicine accompanied by Anthroposophic Medicine at Witten/Herdecke University, Germany. During her further training in paediatric and adolescent medicine, she worked at the Community Hospital in Herdecke, Germany, the DRK Children’s Hospital in Siegen, Germany, and the University Children’s Hospital in Cologne, Germany. From 2008 to 2023 she worked as a senior physician in the paediatric outpatient clinic at Herdecke Community Hospital, from 2014–2021 also as a school doctor at the Rudolf Steiner School in Bochum, Germany. In 2021, she founded the “von Tessin Centre for Health and Education” with Prof Dr Zdrazil at the Freie Hochschule Stuttgart – Seminar for Waldorf Pedagogy. Karin Michael is married and the mother of two daughters. She has been part of the leadership team of the Medical Section at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland, since September 2023.
