Importance of Learning a Foreign Language
“The goal of teaching foreign languages in Waldorf schools is to develop a positive attitude toward people of other languages, cultures, and nations and to encourage the development of human understanding. In a foreign language class, the children experience the culture, literature, art, and customs of a different region of the world while also gradually improving their proficiency in the new language. Learning a foreign language encourages the growth of flexible thinking, empathy, curiosity about the world and other people, as well as a new way of expressing oneself and experiencing the world.
